- Currently I am in the 5th year as a Ph.D student in IG program. I plan to
graduate in 2009.
- Hometown: Tianjin, P.R.China
- Undergrad: B.S in Biology, Nankai University, P.R.China
- Extracurricular Activities: I like jogging, reading, listening to music and cooking.
I also enjoy spending time on shopping, hanging out with my friends during
weekends. I am having a passion for photography right now, trying to better
appreciate the beauty of nature.
- I came to Iowa State because it was the first university that gave me admission
when I applied for graduate school in 2004. In addition, genetics major of ISU
is in the top ranking in US and the research environment here is pretty good as
I heard. People in Iowa, I noticed, are really nice, open and friendly to
international students.
- My research focuses on studying the histone and non-histone protein’s
acetylation during the apoptosis process of the dopaminergic neurons. Clarifying
such protein’s modification and uncovering this mechanism may contribute a lot
to find out the pathogenesis of Parkinson’s disease or other neurodegenerative
diseases.
- After I get my Ph.D degree, I may continue the post-doc training first and then
will try to find a faculty position either in US or China.
